On the evening of December 6th, the prestigious 2024 China Design Intelligence Award (DIA) ceremony was held at the Liángzhū campus of the China Academy of Art. Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, Ke Jixin, presented the Grand Prize to the winner. Thomas Garvey, President of the World Design Organization, and Xu Jiang, Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Chairman of the Zhejiang Federation of Literary and Art Circles, jointly announced the Grand Prize. The 2024 DIA, which officially launched on December 15, 2023, received over 8,000 entries from 47 countries and regions worldwide, with 7 new participating countries, marking the first time that the competition covered 76 countries and regions.
Among the winners, the furniture collection "M Collection," launched by EXPOCASA in collaboration with renowned industrial designer Yang Mingjie, won the Bronze Award in the industrial category! The "M" stands for Module, which emphasizes modularity. The goal is to innovate based on a modular structure to achieve sustainable design principles in each element, rather than relying on superficial decoration. As one of the few furniture products to win the 2024 China Design Intelligence Award, Yang Mingjie, from the outset of designing the M Collection, abandoned the pursuit of style in favor of innovation through materials, craftsmanship, and structure, fundamentally achieving innovation.
EXPOCASA, as a Chinese original furniture brand, has remained true to its mission and continues to explore sustainable paths for furniture design, striving to bring consumers a freer, more relaxed, and more comfortable furniture experience. At this year's furniture fair, EXPOCASA appeared as an important exhibitor and showcased the M Collection series. In the M Collection series of sofas, components such as the back panel, base, cushions, and armrests are all independent modular units. By using standardized installation and combination methods, the sofas can be configured into single, double, and triple-seat units, as well as corner sofa combinations, adapting to different home spaces and living scenarios. The removable small screens on both sides of the back panel and the extended space of the base provide flexible storage space for items in various usage scenarios.
