On January 2, the Russian Real Estate News Agency reported that from January to December 2024, Russian furniture prices rose by an average of 5-15%.

Mr. Doors sales director Galina Bakina said that the price increase was mainly affected by factors such as increased transportation costs, price increases for suppliers' raw materials and wage increases due to staff shortages. In addition, rising fuel and energy prices and increased import tariffs on accessories also had an important impact.

Robert Solovyov, head of sales at KD Design, pointed out that some categories have seen even bigger increases, with prices for products such as beds, coffee tables, dining tables and cabinets rising by 20-25%. Timur Iltuganov, general manager of the Russian Furniture and Woodworking Industry Association, added that individual categories such as mattresses and soft chairs saw smaller increases, no more than 3%.

Experts predict that furniture prices will continue to rise in 2025, with some products rising by at least 5%. Bakina said that many suppliers have announced the use of new price lists. Since most hardware accessories, fabrics, paints, etc. are still imported, the cost of accessories can account for 40% of the production cost of panel furniture, and exchange rate fluctuations are still one of the key factors affecting prices.
